These countersunk, winged, self drilling screws are ideal for fastening timber, plywood, chipboard and similar materials to steel. As the fastener drills through the timber, the wings on the screw shank ream a clearance hole. This allows the fastener to continue drilling through the steel with no 'jacking' or separation of the materials due to thread engagement. Once the drill point has penetrated through the steel, the wings break off and the threads grip the steel, firmly and positively clamping the material together. Suitable for steel thickness of 1.5 - 3.0mm.
